Ultimate Singles Awareness Recipe

I love holidays. They are full of love, surprise, gifts, fancy outfits that you have been dying to wear, flowers, and food that makes your mouth water. Valentines Day, however, has never fallen on a date conducive to that little list for me. This particular holiday always makes me think of Bridget Jones. I wish Valentines Day was some time in the summer because I’m usually dating someone. February is a tough month; a lack of vitamin D and being single is a rough mix. Those two things might possibly be connected but let’s not overanalyze.


Emotional eating is nothing to be ashamed of – it’s a part of life for every human on earth. It’s a term that describes a natural reaction we have to a lack of being fed. Fed, as in nutrients from food, life, relationships, and an array of things that affect our well-being.

Have you ever craved food because of its texture? I have definitely craved crunchy toast, breakfast potatoes, or a creamy smoothie, and not because of the ingredients but how the texture made me feel. Textures stimulate different responses for our emotions. Creamy stimulates a soothing, calming, or comforting feeling, while Crunchy helps relieve stress. If you’re a nail biter then try eating crunchy snacks as an alternative to your crunchy nails. I promise they taste better and you might even get a Valentine’s date next year.

This recipe is both creamy and crunchy. The best part is that it is fast and you don’t have to heat anything up. Snacks that satisfy cravings while still staying on the healthy list are a favorite for any single female, especially on a lovely holiday like today. Enjoy!


  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 8 ounces frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 – 1/4 cup honey (depends how sweet you want it – you can also do 1/2 honey and 1/2 stevia or other sweetener)
  • 1 tsp vanilla


Blend until smooth, pour into a mason jar or fancy wine glass, and enjoy while watching your favorite movie. Something with Audrey Hepburn always makes for a lovely evening.
